I was born in Lake Forest Illinois and grew up in the prominent city of Waukegan, Illinois. Starting at an early age of eight, I begun using photography and other forms of art. Continuing throughout my life, mastering light, experimenting with other mediums, and a vigorously intense black and white photography tour through Europe for ten months studying at Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy. I preceded to graduate from Columbia College Chicago in May 2007, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography.

I am currently a freelance photojournalist at Chicago Tribune Media Group, Chicago Sun-Times, The Lake County News-Sun, and Pioneer Press of Illinois, covering Local News, Spot News, and Sports.

I am a photographer and the owner of The Mark Photography, Inc, which specializes in Editorial, Documentary, Candid, Sports, and Fine Art Photography (Nature, Urban/Industrial, Night, Scenic, Abstract, Infrared, B&W).
