For news photographers in the DC area, this Thursday is a big news day.
There will be a hearing on Capitol Hill on the CASE Act, the bill that would create a Copyright Small Claims tribunal in the Copyright Office this Thursday. As you may know, NPPA, along with several other photography associations, has been advocating for Congress to pass a copyright small claims law. A hearing on the bill is being held this Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 2pm, in the Rayburn building in room 2141.
NPPA is asking its DC-area members who are available to come to the hearing.
You will not be asked to speak during the hearing, and we ask you to be quiet and respectful during the hearing, but a strong presence of photographers in the audience will demonstrate the support that this bill has among our members. We appreciate your continued support of the CASE Act and issues that affect photographers.

We know it is expected to be an incredibly busy news day, so it is even more important for those who are available to come. Please arrive early as seating is limited.
Photographers who are interested in gathering early and walking to the hearing together can come by the Capitol Hill Hotel, 200 C St. SE, Washington, DC 20003, starting 12:00 pm. Light refreshments will be provided. We will be providing t-shirts, pins, and buttons and walking a couple of blocks to the hearing together.
Please let NPPA know if you will be there by emailing [email protected].
