The Tampa Tribune Carol Cleere has been a staff photographer/Illustrator for The Tampa Tribune since July 2000. While studying Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota she picked up her first camera at the age of 25. This led to a photography position at the college newspaper and a career in journalism.
Carol has been a featured artist in Photo District News and Foto8. She has won numerous regional and national awards for her photography during her career as a newspaper and wire photographer. Also, she continues her personal work, exhibiting in galleries from Florida to New York.
A native Floridian, Carol loves the Florida lifestyle, indulging her other passions of kayaking, tennis, and windsurfing. Living in a 100 year old cigar factory loft with Buster the Wonder Dog enables her to blur the line between work, art, and life.
