(The following letter was sent either electronically (for those who have provided email addresses) or via the Post Office to all NPPA Life Members in early May, 2006.)
Dear NPPA Life Member,
We hope that you are doing well, and that you've heard about the NPPA's 60th Anniversary Photojournalism Summit. For those who haven't yet heard, the Summit will be held in Tampa, Florida, at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay Hotel from June 23rd-25th, 2006. This event provides a unique opportunity to both celebrate the NPPA's past 60 years, and discuss the future of our profession.
This letter is your invitation to a special Life Member Luncheon to be held at 12:00pm, Friday June 23rd. A short program is planned, and those who would like to get together or reminisce may do so following the luncheon. We hope to also display a presentation of pictures from previous NPPA National Conventions. If you have any prints, slides, or electronic images, and would like to have them included, please send them to me, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope, to the address at the bottom of this letter. Original prints and slides will be copied and returned to their owners as soon as possible.
As Mark Loundy has written (News Photographer, November 2005) and as we all know, "There's no such thing as a free lunch." The cost to attend the luncheon will be $25.00 per person. There's no need to pay at this time, you may pay at the luncheon. Spouses and significant others are also welcome to attend.
