- NPPA "Shootout"
- This first-ever shootout will pit photojournalists against each other to see who can create the most inspiring images. Be a part of this history-making contest.
- NPPA Life Member Reunion
- Life Member Joe Young is planning a Life Member Luncheon. This is a great opportunity for life members to get together and reminisce about the "good ol' days." Joe will also be showing off great old equipment, and will give his now-famous flash powder demonstration
- Herb Schwartz, early NYC still photographer who joined CBS to shoot for TV, will be a co-speaker with Joe Young on "How the Old Equipment Worked". Schwartz, with CBS for 55 years, will bring his old Filmo movie camera. Schwartz belonged to the New York Press Photographers with Joe Costa before the formation of NPPA in 1946 and is a NPPA charter member.
- Honors and Recognition Banquet
- Award winners from the TV and Still Best of Photojournalism contests, the TV and Still Regional Photographers of the Year, and all the NPPA Honors and Recognitions (including the prestigious Sprague Award) will be honored at this special NPPA 60th Anniversary Banquet.

- Look to the Future
- On Sunday morning, a panel discussion on the future of photojournalism and issues currently facing the industry will take place between the president of the National Press Photographers Association, the president of the American Society of Media Photographers, the president of Editorial Photographers, and the president of the White House News Photographers Association.
