- The Seminar will be in the Bonnell Building's Small Auditorium at the Community College of Philadelphia, room BG-11 on 17th Street, between Spring Garden and Callowhill streets.
Faculty & Staff
- Lou Davis
is a Photographer at WTVD in Raleigh, North Carolina. In the course of his 13 year news photography career, Lou Davis has won 70 AP, NPPA, Emmy and RTNDA awards, including being named a Finalist (3rd) for the National Press Photographer of the Year in 2000, the 2003 Region 9 Television News Photographer of the Year, and an honored recipient of a 2004 National Edward R. Murrow Award.- Matt Rafferty
is the current NPPA Cutting Edge Editor of the Year. This is the 2nd time he's won the award. In 2006, 2007, and 2008, Matt was named the NPPA runner up Video Editor of the Year and he has been honored with 11 other NPPA editing awards. In addition he has won a National Headliner Award, 11 Emmys, a national Edward R. Murrow award and an Alfred I. duPont award.- Shawn Montano
is the 2008 NPPA Editor of the Year. This is Shawn's 2nd time winning this award. He also won the title in 2002. Shawn recently joined a long list of talented people laid off from News Departments around the country. He's now at KWGN-TV in Denver (The CW affiliate). He's won 3 Heartland Emmys, 2 Colorado Broadcasters Association Awards, a regional Edward R. Murrow Award and numerous national NPPA Awards. He's worked in 5 different newsrooms. Shawn's also worked in the production world editing shows for the Discovery Health Channel.

Workshop Session Topics
Matt, Lou and Shawn will all be involved in each presentation. We'll each share some insight on each topic. All 3 of us will share our unique and different styles of editing during the 'Hands On' Presentation.

We'll put a non-linear laptop editor in front of you and you'll actually edit using skills you've learned throughout the seminar and more! Registration for Hands on is limited so please register early! If you have your own laptop non-linear editing system you are more than welcome to bring it, in which case you will not be subject to the attendance limit.
If you neither use one of our editing systems or bring your own, we still encourage you to stay and audit this afternoon session! You will be able to learn by watching others edit and we'll spread everyone around the room!
