Biello will show and speak about his work as a network TV video journalist and speak about the future of crews at the network level. Is the era of the two or three person network crew dying, as some have stated? Mark will give his insights.
Biello, winner of 9 Emmys, 2 Peabodys and a Dupont Award has traveled to over 80 countries, capturing compelling stories for CNN over the past 25 years. He was portrayed in the HBO film "Live from Baghdad" as the only photojournalist for CNN to be in Baghdad when the 1991 Gulf War began. He also covered the fall of eastern Europe; the Berlin wall; the fall of the Soviet Union, Somalia; Rwanda; Bosnia, and as many as 30 conflicts and wars around the world. During hurricane Katrina he rescued dozens of people hours after the storm had passed through New Orleans and did live reports via videophone in hurricanes Dennis, Rita and Wilma in 2005.
Mark will share his experiences and secrets for finding the passion, purpose and truth behind the stories we cover. Biello will also be available to discuss the extensive traveling video journalists must sometimes do nationally and internationally. Mark is constantly on the road.
