Adam Vance
Adam Vance is a story in his own right. Born in Saigon in the middle of the Vietnam War he was orphaned and brought to America as part of Operation Baby Lift. He was raised in New Mexico where he began is journalist career as a still photographer for the Gallup Independent.
He then embarked to Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM with his High School sweetheart Paulette. While persuing his Mass Communication degree he continued to work for the Amarillo Globe News until graduation.
Immediately following graduation he was hired by NBC affiliate, KOB-TV and later joined KOAT-TV where he met one of his best mentors, Tim Blotz. Blotz introduced Adam to the great style of NPPA and it didn’t take long for him to produce award-winning work.
Years later, he and his wife, Paulette, embarked to Tampa where he continued his passion for this profession we call “story-telling”.
Currently, Adam is a Special Projects Photojournalist at the CBS affiliate in Tampa, WTSP-TV. He has honed his skills from a once newspaper photographer to an esteemed television photojournalist. Having completed 7 years with 10 Connets he has received 5 Emmy Nominations, 4 SPJs, 4 AP awards and several others.
His greatest story is anyone he tells of his twin toddler sons, Bryce and Connor.
He joins the NPPA Faculty with a complete understanding of the convergence process between newspaper, television and web. He is a logistics expert, an editor, as well as someone who will drive you home when you have had a few.
