John Hyjek
Three time NPPA Editor of the Year, recipient of two national EMMYs for individual achievement, John Hyjek is stationed in Atlanta for NBC NEWS.
You've seen his work on the NBC shows Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, the Today Show, Dateline NBC, MSNBC's The News with Brian Williams, as well as various MSNBC & CNBC shows. He began his career as a Photographer/editor in Hartford, CT with Post Newsweek. Gannett brought John along to what is now KARE in Minneapolis when they bought the station in 1983. As a Producer/photographer/editor he won numerous awards and helped turn the station's ranking from number four to number one (garnering a NPPA Station of the Year award) in three short years. A NPPA TV Workshop graduate, John credits his success to the fundamentals he learned in Norman, OK. He's been on the Faculty since 1995.
