Lynsey Addario's 2011: From Libyan War Captive To New Mother
Last March the situation looked very bad indeed: photojournalist Lynsey Addario and three other New York Times journalists were missing in war-torn Libya, hopefully being held captive but possibly dead in the chaos of a civil war. Her husband went on TV and directly asked Muammar el-Qaddafi for her safe return. Released days later, spirited to Tunisia, they were reunited. NPPA today made several significant announcements about its annual Best Of Photojournalism contest, including a reorganization of the competition as visual journalism moves into a new era. Along with a new and easier way to enter, there's also some category revisions plus some new categories, and winners will be picked using a mixture of online and on-site judging, Contest Committee chair Terry Eiler says.. more |
