DURHAM, NC (October 10, 2011) – NPPA is hosting a live online chat to help visual journalism students talk about finding internships and jobs.
On Sunday, October 16, the chat, which is open to everyone, features NPPA president Sean D. Elliot, Student Committee chair Bettina Hansen, Student Chapters Committee Chair Michael P. King, Education Committee chair Mark E. Johnson, and Student Representative Maddie McGarvey.
The chat will begin online at 9 p.m. EDT.
Chat organizers say they will talk about what visual journalism students need to get started, tips on how to take advantage of various NPPA programs, and share ideas on how to network like a professional. NPPA's student advisors have learned over the years that finding internships and jobs often depends on "who" you know as much as it does on "what" you know.
The chat is hosted on NPPA's Visual Student blog (blogs.nppa.org/visualstudent) and everyone is invited to participate by posting questions and ideas and being involved.
