DURHAM, NC (August 3, 2011) – As part of News Photographer magazine's August issue coverage of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America, we asked photojournalists Bruce and Jennifer Law Young to compile a list of the names of photographers who covered the attack sites in New York City, Washington, DC, and Shanksville, PA, on that nearly incomprehensible day.
Special thanks also go to Susan Markisz, David Handschuh, Jack Stokes, and Chuck Zoeller for their assistance and their efforts to collect and verify photographers' names.
Below are the photographers that we've been able to determine were shooting at the attack sites on September 11. But if we've failed to discover someone, or if a name has been inadvertently left out, please contact us at magazine@nppa.org.
