London Funeral For Tim Hetherington In May

LONDON (April 27, 2011) – Funeral services have been announced for photojournalist and filmmaker Tim Hetherington, killed last week along with Getty Images senior staff photographer Chris Hondros when they were struck by a mortar or a rocket-propelled grenade in Misrata, Libya, while covering rebels battling Libyan troops.
A service will be held in London on Friday May 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. at The Jesuit Church Of The Immaculate Conception on Farm Street at Mayfair in London, W1. The family asks those attending to please note the formal entrance to the church is situated at 114 Mount Street, Mayfair, London, W1K 3AH.
A reception will follow at The Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London.

Born in Liverpool in 1970, Hetherington made the documentary film "Restrepo" about U.S. troops in Afghanistan and it was nominated for an Academy Award. He was a contributing photographer for Vanity Fair magazine and a veteran of more than a decade of covering conflict and war. Last year, on the tenth anniversary of being a war photographer, Hetherington posted online a "highly personal and experimental film" about his work called "Diary."
