Photo Blogs, Slideshows, Document Campaign's Closing Days
NEW YORK, NY (November 4, 2008) – The New York Times multimedia and photography staff have published an extremely comprehensive online photo and video report on America's longest and costliest presidential campaign, one that has brought the nation here to today's historic election. On Dirck Halstead's site, the Digital Journalist, photojournalists Stephen Crowley of The New York Times and Callie Shell, shooting for Time, share their experiences and excellent galleries of their photographs of traveling with McCain and Obama throughout the campaign.
In the Chicago Tribune a well-edited photography gallery called the "Long Campaign Trail" features more than 170 staff and agency photographs from the closing days of the campaign. It's online here.
Photojournalist Damon Winter examines "Photographic Diptychs" in a Photographers' Journal titled "Political Landscapes."
The Los Angeles Times has a photo gallery that's a retrospective of some of the campaign's best speeches, worst gaffes, and biggest shockers of the campaign.
And Reuters photojournalists Brian Snyder and Jason Reed, riding the last days of the campaign and into election day with Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, have blogged about the experience and posted some of their favorite photographs on the Reuters photojournalism blog here.
