Orphan Works: Tough Time For Creative Types

ST. LOUIS, MO (October 7, 2008) – Beck Diefenbach, a photography and multimedia intern at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, has written an Op-Ed piece on the issue of Orphan Works for the newspaper's Photo Blog, "PICTURES."

Some may remember that "PICTURES" was the name of the Post-Dispatch's Sunday magazine, which was published weekly from 1938 until 1996. After being gone for 12 years, "PICTURES" has been relaunched online where the Post-Dispatch hopes to "bring the same tradition of rich visual storytelling to the Web, in still pictures, multimedia, and videos."

Diefenbach's very complete analysis of Orphan Works legislation and his examination of the nuances of the copyright amendment, called "Tough Time For Creative Types," is online in "PICTURES" here.
