Pete Souza's "The Rise Of Barack Obama" Exhibit, Book Signing

WASHINGTON, DC (August 2, 2008) – There will be a public opening of an exhibit of photographs from award-winning photojournalist Pete Souza's new book "The Rise Of Barack Obama" on Saturday, August 9 2008, at the Edison Place Gallery in Washington, DC.

The event is sponsored by the White House News Photographers Association and it is from 2 to 4 p.m. EST at the gallery, located at 702 Eight Street NW, Washington.

Souza will make a brief presentation and sign copies of the new book. The backdrop for the event will be another exhibit, "The Eyes Of History," the White House News Photographers Association's winning photographs from their annual contest.

The photographer was a staff photojournalist for the Chicago Tribune for many years, and now he teaches at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication in Athens.
