Illinois Photographer Of The Year Ends In Tie

 

CHAMPAIGN, IL (March 28, 2008) - The Illinois Press Photographer Association's annual photography contest at their yearly convention ended tonight with a tie for first place.

After a long discussion by the judges, Scott Strazzante of the Chicago Tribune and Carlos Javier Ortiz of Polaris were declared the tied first place winners.

Honorable Mentions for POY portfolios were awarded to Heather Eidson of the Aurora Beacon and Kuni Takahashi of the Chicago Tribune.

Today at the convention attendees will hear speakers Rod Mar, Lori Grinker, and David Stephenson at The Illini Media Company building in Champaign, IL. Sunday's program has on the schedule a student seminar and professional and personal portfolio reviews.
