New York Photo Festival Invites NPPA Members To Enter
NEW YORK, NY (March 12, 2008) - Frank Evers, the founder and co-chair of the New York Photo Festival, encourages all NPPA members to enter the New York Photo Awards. The winners will be celebrated on May 16, 2008, at the New York Photo Festival.
“We are committed to creating serious, industry-respected awards which truly reflect the best the best – and future – of contemporary photography,” Evers said.
All photographers, students, and photography teachers are eligible to enter. The deadline for entry is April 14 and can be done online. Work that is eligible for the contest must have been produced between December 1, 2006, and January 31, 2008. Photographs must fit into one of these categories: editorial, advertising, books, personal work, unpublished work, fine art, multimedia, or student work. There are entry fees: $30 per single photograph; $90 per published book, catalog, brochure, or other periodicals; $90 for editorial, advertising, or personal series of up to 12 images; and $75 for multimedia submissions. “The inaugural New York Photo Festival promises to deliver a dynamic, high-quality event in what is arguably the photographic capital of the world,” Evers said. The festival will be headquartered in the New York neighborhood referred to as DUMBO, on the Brooklyn waterfront between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.
Judges for the photography contest include Tim Barber, Elisabeth Biondi, Lauren Greenfield, William Hunt, Charlie Melcher, Daniel Power, Jody Quon, Benjamin Trigano, and Evers. Multimedia and Video category judges include Meredith Birkett, Snorri Bros, Greg Clayman, Bjarke Myrthu, Greenfield, and Evers.
