WHNPA Launches Student POY Contest

 

WASHINGTON, DC (February 21, 2008) - The White House News Photographers Association has launched a Student Photographer of the Year contest, and the deadline for entering the inaugural competition is March 1, 2008.

Three judges from the WHNPA will pick winners and a public judging will be held on March 15 at the Ward Building on the campus of American University in Washington, DC.

The first WHNPA Student Photographer of the Year will receive a $1,000 scholarship, a free one-year subscription to Digital Railroad, two tickets to the WHNPA black-tie Eyes Of History dinner, a two-page spread in the WHNPA Eyes Of History awards book, and display in the Eyes Of History traveling exhibit.
