Celebration Of Life Set For Ray Farkas

Ray Farkas

WASHINGTON, DC (January 23, 2008) - The family of the late television producer Ray Farkas have planned a Celebration Of Ray's Life for Saturday, January 26, 2008, at the Bethesda Theater, 7719 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda, MD.

"In the weeks since Ray's death, we are grateful and overwhelmed by the extraordinary community of support that has emerged," Ray's wife Sharon said. "Your calls, visits, notes, and blog postings are poignant and humbling. We are taken aback by the breadth of Ray's influence on so many we have never met. Please join in a celebration of Ray's life and enjoy with us some of his trademark video on the big screen. As befits Ray, there will be more laughter than tears, more stories than eulogies, more food than prayers. All emotions and the people with them are welcome."

RSVPs are not required, and the family encourages passing along the invitation to the open event. "Bethesda Theater is Ray's kind of place: art deco, lively, and unrestrained," Sharon said. Some of the stories Farkas produced during his long career will be projected on the theater's big screen and his family, wife Sharon and children Mark, Julie, Danny and Andrew will be there to greet friends.
