WHNPA's "Surviving The Digital Challenge" This Saturday In DC

 

WASHINGTON, DC (October 2, 2007) - The White House News Photographers Association and American University’s School of Communication will present a one day seminar on the dramatic changes in the news industry brought about by developing technology and the growing demand for content for magazine and newspaper Web sites. "Surviving The Digital Challenge" is open to the public and there is no admission fee.

WHNPA president Dennis Brack says the seminar will be held at Ward Hall 2 at American University, 4400 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC, on Saturday, October 6, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Speakers who are scheduled to appear include Lucian Perkins of The Washington Post; Stephen Crowley of The New York Times; freelancer David Snider; WHNPA 2007 Video Editor of the Year Pierre Kattar of washingtonpost.com; American University professor and video journalist Bill Gentile; and Michael Rosenblum, founder of Video News International.

Panasonic representatives will demonstrate the latest High Definition cameras, Brack says.
