Online Survey Asks About 9/11 Journalists' Health Concerns
NEW YORK, NY (October 30, 2007) - The New York Press Photographers Association is conducting an online survey to ask photojournalists what they may have been exposed to while covering the terrorist attacks of 9/11 at the World Trade Center site, and any subsequent illnesses that may be linked to exposure to the site.
The survey is designed for journalists who covered the events of 9/11 and the weeks and months afterwards.
"We appreciate that you are participating in this important research. It should take you less than 10 minutes to complete the survey but the benefits to journalists and to yourself will last a lifetime," NYPPA vice president Todd Maisel of The New York Daily News said. Maisel is also NPPA's Region 2 director.
"Please participate in this survey if you are a staff or freelance photographer, reporter, journalist, producer, correspondent, editor, technician or worked in a position related to gathering and disseminating information if you were at the World Trade Center site, 'Ground Zero,' 'The Pile,' or in Manhattan south of Canal Street for any period of time between September 11, 2001 through September 11, 2003," Maisel said.
The survey is online here.
