Vaughan Named National Photo Editor For AP

 

NEW YORK (February 15, 2007) – Victor Vaughan, the assistant managing editor for presentation for The Arizona Daily Star, has been named national photo editor for The Associated Press, AP director of photography Santiago Lyon announced today in New York.

Vaughan was one of a panel of judges who picked the photography winners in NPPA’s 2005 Best Of Photojournalism competition at The Poynter Institute for Media Studies in St. Petersburg, FL. He’s been with the Daily Star since 2002 when he was director of photography. Before that, he was a picture editor for The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, VA, a photo assignment editor for the Detroit Free Press and for The Columbus Dispatch in Ohio. AP says Vaughan has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Norfolk State University.
