Northern Short Course Online Registration Opens
NEW HAVEN, CT (January 22, 2007) – Michelle McLoughlin, a member of the board of directors for the Northern Short Course and director of NPPA’s Region 1, today said that online registration is now open for the 2007 Northern Short Course.
“The Northern Short Course Web site has now been updated with the courses and speakers,” McLoughlin said. The event is scheduled for March 8-10 at The Crowne Plaza in Warwick, RI. The Crowne Plaza Hotel has guaranteed NSC attendees a rate of $105 per night if reserved by February 6, 2007.
Speakers scheduled to appear include Sam Abell, a contributing photographer-in-residence for National Geographic magazine; David Leeson of The Dallas Morning News; Preston Keres of The Washington Post; Thea Breite of the Boston Globe; Rick Loomis of the Los Angeles Times; and Brian Storm of MediaStorm.
This year’s event will be the 26th annual NSC workshop, and it includes lectures and seminars, workshops, and a still photography contest.
McLoughlin said this year’s workshops include: multimedia storytelling; advanced audio galleries; Web designing and programming; a multimedia shootout; studio and location lighting; a session on Web marketing and the business of getting business; business practices for photographers; and picture editing and page design.
The deadline to enter the NSC Still Photography Contest is February 16, 2007. It is open to NPPA members who are in Regions 1, 2, and 3. The contest entry form, rules, and guidelines are available in a downloadable PDF form on the NSC Web site.
