Registration Opens For 2007 NPPA NewsVideo Workshop

DURHAM, NC (November 8, 2006) – Registration is now open for the 2007 NPPA NewsVideo Workshop, scheduled to be held in Norman, Oklahoma, from March 18 through 23, 2007.

Workshop co-director Sharon Levy Freed says, “You really need to attend! Why? Because there are more and more people out there just like you... shooting stories with video cameras and microphones. And if you don't learn to do it right, to do it solid, to do it well, you might find yourself not doing it any more. We’re here to help!”

“The NPPA NewsVideo Workshop believes in quality video storytelling. We believe in learning how to use the basics: the camera, the microphones and the great sounds they capture; lights; non-linear editing; writing. It’s all to tell a compelling, human story that brings the viewer to a place they otherwise might not get to go. We by no means have only one style that is right… we don’t have all the answers. We don’t even know many of the questions. But after 46 years, we know how to build a pretty strong foundation.

“We’re newspaper, TV, Web, church, military, law enforcement, documentarians, network, local, print, whatever you want to call us… we’re professionals. Sign up now for The NPPA NewsVideo Workshop. Together we’ll start to build a style, and some secrets and the stories that make the next generation of video storytelling the best yet.”
