When Lou won Region 9’s POY he wrote a letter, “Dear Dad.” Part of it reads: “Every step of the way you have been there with me… showing me how light falls, helping me to creatively compose pictures, gather natural sound, and search out characters while directing me to be at the right places to catch moments… You have given me the courage to stick with ‘substance over style’ in storytelling. Honoring a person’s life is much more important than ‘look-at-me edits’ or ‘flash and dash’ photography.” Lou has moved to WTVD in Durham, NC.
