Onlookers watch the remains of the old E.E. Mitchell Company building smolders Wednesday morning in downtown Morrilton after an overnight fire destroyed the property. The building was constructed in 1925.

Judges’ comments for the category

First Place: The sing, the people and the smoldering rubble came together very well in this shot. Second Place: It always sad to see someone loose their home. Nice image and it shows that the photographer did not drag their feet when responding to this call. Third Place: We weren't really interested on the detail of the bird, but we really liked the reaction of the kid as the officer captured the hawk.
