Brandi Paulson
The stories we choose were clear winners. It came down to who used the most natural sound in their piece. Since photographers were thought to have an advantage over editors we were thinking we would see some clear definitions from the photographers side and the editing side. However, we did not. If the two categories were joined I probably would not have been able to tell the difference.
Paul Pytlowany
We went into this category with high expectations. Clearly photographers have an advantage editing their own stories. We were mildly disappointed. With that said, the winner in this category displayed solid editing skills with use of clear & crisp natural sound breaks.
