"Absolute Insanity" took viewer through preps, hurricane itself, the raw emotions of despair and hope.
"This is a repeat, Baby" was a close second in that the crews were all over the place, in the thick of very dangerous situation, and didn't miss a beat catching all the drama.

"The Storm" definitely showed teamwork from Virginia to Baltimore. The thing I liked was that although the storm had passed, there was still a story and it was told. The riot was nice as well, but it could have been done with one camera. You might not have captured everything with one camera, but it could've been done. You can't say that with a hurricane. It takes teamwork. "Nice job" to both teams. One covered more ground than the other.

"Absolute Insanity" captured the essence of teamwork, consistency and creativity while shooting a tragic situation. Seamless transitions made me feel like I was there after the Hurricane.

I really enjoyed judging this category. Rather than focusing on one photographers work, I could appreciate a whole station's effort in covering a major event.
The winner here, "Absolute Insanity" showed good solid coverage in the aftermath of hurricane Isabel's attack on Baltimore. The high water conditions obviously made access tough. I liked the jellyfish on main street image and the hard news elements made this story complete.
