"Honor and Betrayal", a thorough investigation of the sex scandal at AFA was compelling from start to finish. Excellent production and appropriate use of graphics. "Finding Family" was equally riveting in that we followed a Holocaust survivor on his journey to find out what happened to his family. Very moving and lots of emotion here.

This was the lesser of the two evils that made it to the finalist for me. I had a major issue with "Finding Family's" use of music to set the mood. We as journalists must not create anything except what we capture through the lens of our cameras. "Honor and Betrayal" was a very good investigation that was limited in video for various reasons. I thought the girl setting next to the window was staged and a bit hokey.

The Documentary category had two distinctly different stories dealing with Air Force policy and the Halocaust. "Honor and Betrayal" had significant impact making real change on a national level.

"Finding Family" overused music to replace emotion at times making it a less than powerful story. K.I.S.S.
