Loved the "Bud flood". Unique spot news story that was shot and reported well.

"It's gotten out of hand" was also a great deadline piece with lots of natural sound and emotion, the woman who was heart-broken after the humane society said her breeding farm was anything but humane.

While "Not in Lebanon" had a harder edge and you felt for the kid, the ending was very weak and it seemed liked the father played into the camera a bit. Great access, but "Bud Flood" was simply a better story done in a unique way. Most journalists would've stuck with the facts and not have been creative. Keep on keeping on you'll go far doing work like that.

"Bud Flood" was awesome! A perfect balance of light hearted spot news storytelling and technique. A+ commitment!!!

"Not in Lebanon" while not technically excellent, focused on a rarely seen police event along with touching moments.

For me, "Bud Flood" ranked as one of the best stories of the week.

In a short period of time, the photographer and reporter crafted a well written and hilarious spot-news story. The issue here: what to do with a Budweiser beer truck, stuck in a flooded river, and surrounded by submerged port-a-potties.

The story had great characters, surprises and solid shooting skills. We recognized the quick turn of the piece and a great overall effort.

Other stories that placed here had crisp, natural sound breaks, moderately used as punctuation to the reporter's track. Solid shooting skills also had to complement these stories.

My favorite category overall. The depth and variety is here. Where everyday skills are measured and challenged.

The top pick stands out for the efforts of the photojournalist; the sound and moments gathered were memorable. The consistent story flow made sense without distractions. The sound driving the story is from a variety of different people, leading me to think extra effort was a part of the story equation. Truly thinking on your feet.
