Judge's Comments
The nytimes.com's 'Dreams at the End of the Long Road' is a solid piece profiling three Olympic athletes and took first place in this category. The package's well-designed entry page allowed the user to view each profile in any order. The photo and audio stories were consistent and compelling, throughout, allowing the visitors to enter the lives of these three athletes.
Though the photos and photographer's audio comments were interesting in 'A Journey Through Greece' from the nytimes.com, it was the narrative of the 1st place winner that lowered this entry to 2nd place.
Finally, 3rd place was awarded to DallasNews.com's "The Double Arabian : A Dangerous Skill." The time lapsed photography was an interesting approach to this brief and informative package.
