Judge's Comments

UNC, Ten Years On
The breadth and creativity of this package really impressed all the judges. It's well designed and good-looking overall in a way appropriate to the stories being told. The thoroughness and depth of information make it an educational experience.
The introduction draws the user in with music, narration and animation and provides the context of the entire package. There's a consistent look and navigation throughout (although we found the contents button bar a bit hard to find at first).
The overall package should have been edited much tighter. Having gathered all this information, the producers should have made clear decisions about what were the important elements and really drive home the focus of the story.
All the effort put into this packages outdistances the quality of a lot of the photography. There is some good documentary work but some weak images.
Most of the audio adds flavor and texture, and the quality is good. The weakness of many of the audio clips is that they are too long, and it's not practical to expect a Web user to listen that long.
