Best Of Photojournalism: Picture Editing

The picture editing competition is an attempt to recognize the individuals and publications that identify and encourage excellence in photojournalism and reward that work with effective usage on the pages of their publications. Picture editing is a complex process involving many steps along the way to excellence. Picture selection, photographer coaching and page design are but a few of the steps in the process. In some cases this is done by one individual and in others the work involves more than one individual. The identification of the individual or individuals responsible for the success of each entry in the editing division in many cases is difficult, but it is the responsibility of the entrant to make that decision. The Best Of Photojournalism: The Web

The goal of this contest is to recognize the best work being produced by publicly accessible journalism web sites, whether they are affiliated with big news organizations or are the product of talented independents. Advertising, business, and personal portfolio sites are not eligible. In general, entries will be judged on the quality of their photographic content, presentation, and the publication's mastery of the technology and tools of the online medium. All entries must be submitted via an online, interactive entry form.
