NPPA Best of Photojournalism Contest

CALL FOR ENTRIES

The National Press Photographers Association announces call for entries for the 2001 Best of Photojournalism Competition.

The deadline is Friday, February 15th. Historically, the deadline for entries has been mid-January. We feel the later deadline will make it possible for you to properly prepare your entries and have some time for family and friends during the holidays.

It was technology that made this possible. MerlinOne, a leader in digital archiving, has joined us as a corporate sponsor and their software will be used to organize and judge the contest.

Yes, we're moving to digital for this year's contest. However, we will accept slides to make this a smooth transition. The digital entries can be cross platform, PC or Mac, and we're accepting FTP submission from photographers in the field or overseas.

Everyone who's entered a digital contest knows how difficult the captioning can be and we're simplifying this with a Mac or PC plug-in to Photoshop. All of these details are available on the NPPA web site.

Categories have been created by photojournalists and picture editors for photojournalists and picture editors. We're sure you'll be pleased.
